Introducing a new way to participate in the fun of Scrabble Fest!
The Kalamazoo Literacy Council invites you to play in the Scrabble Scramble, a new game where you collect letters and submit words for great prizes. It’s an easy and fun way to help support our mission of empowering adults to reach their full potential through the transformative power of literacy.
How does it work?
For three weeks, July 22-August 9, participants visit our seven downtown host sites and collect a game board and letters of the week. Each location will have a new letter each week. Simply record the letters on the game board, make a word, and email it to us. Scores will be posted to our website; the players with the three highest cumulative scores will win cool prizes from our sponsors.
How to play
- Write down the letter from the host site on the Letter Tray. The more host sites you visit, the more letters you can use to play your word for each round.
- Write the word you want to play each round on the tiles below the Letter Tray.
- Total your score for the round. Scores are totaled according to the points on the tile.
- Email your name and word to scrabble@kalamazooliteracy.org each Friday by 12:00 p.m.
- Visit host sites the following week to play a new word!
- The top 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place scores will be posted here each Friday by 5:00 p.m.
- The Scrabble Scramble winners will be notified via email on Monday, August 12.
