The Kalamazoo Literacy Council (KLC) is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global giving movement that has been driven by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. Since its founding in 2012, millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.
“The KLC is dedicated to enhancing the lives of adults to struggle to read through free one-on-one programs designed to develop reading, writing and spelling skills,” says Michael Evans, executive director. “A donation to the KLC helps us teach the 25,000 in Kalamazoo who struggle to read.”
After two days for getting deals – Black Friday and Cyber Monday – #GivingTuesday is a nationally-celebrated day for giving back.
