TUtor training

Welcome tutor trainees!

This is the training the KLC requires before tutors can be matched with a learner. In the Orientation, you will learn about the KLC’s history, programs, services, learners, and your critical role as a volunteer tutor. The full process includes the orientation, and training sessions where you will gain the tools and knowledge to begin tutoring online or in-person. We focus on using the Laubach Way to Reading method and the Challenger reading series.

Tutor training happens five times a year, in January, March, May, September, and November. You may choose to take the training in person or online. You will receive materials and paperwork in the mail. Homework assignments and meeting reminders are given via email. For any questions about tutor training, contact Abbey at (269) 382-0490 ext. 219.
