Event Series Event Series: Online Health Literacy Forum

Online Health Literacy Forum

September 17, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Forum leader: Doris Ravotas, Ph.D.

This online forum will explore strategies to provide instruction that imparts health and literacy skills for adult learners.

Health is a topic that applies to every adult learner, so using tutoring strategies that meet the health goals of learners is important. Yet, most of the materials for adults do not consistently incorporate health content.  According to the Partnership for Clear Health Communication, literacy skills are the strongest predictor of health status, more than age, income, employment status, education level, or racial/ethnic group.

To register, please email Kito Jumanne-Marshall.
