Symposium to address the impact of adult literacy in the region

The 2018 Adult Literacy Research and Training Symposium is for all interested individuals to attend. This event will provide attendees with an increased understanding of key adult literacy issues and current best practices in four major areas:

  • Parent Literacy
  • Workplace Literacy

  • English as a Second Language

The symposium will also cover how to create vibrant learning opportunities in Community Literacy Centers.

This event is for anyone who is interested in supporting adult literacy – from experienced volunteer tutors and instructors to individuals who want to learn more about how they can serve this important cause. The symposium will give attendees the opportunity to learn new techniques and strategies to support adult learners, employ lessons learned, and receive ongoing support as they join the growing faculty of tutors, instructors, and supporters who are making an impact on adult learning in the region.
