TUtor training

Welcome tutor trainees!

This is the training the KLC requires before tutors can be matched with a learner. In the Orientation, you will learn about the KLC’s history, programs, services, learners, and your critical role as a volunteer tutor. The full process includes the orientation, and training sessions where you will gain all the tools and knowledge to begin online tutoring. We focus on virtual learning, blended learning, and using the Laubach and Challenger series.

Tutor training is held virtually via WebEx. You will receive training materials in the mail.

Orientation: November 4th, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Training: November 6th, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Training: November 13th, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Tutor check ups

We established these bi-weekly meetings as a forum for our tutors to share questions, successes, challenges, and resources around virtual learning. Even if you haven’t yet been matched, it’s a great opportunity to listen in and hear advice from fellow tutors. All are welcome!

Every other Thursday, starting January 14th, 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Every other Tuesday, starting January 19th, 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Be on the lookout for the weekly reminder emails in your inbox.
